Client-Side Processing & Privacy Architecture

Images selected for local processing are processed directly in your browser using HTML5 Canvas, WebAssembly, and local Web Worker threads. Your selected image files are not uploaded to our servers for processing.

1. Image Processing & Server Interaction

Local Browser Processing: When you open or drag-and-drop a photo from your computer or phone (whether JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, GIF, SVG, or BMP), the file is read into your local browser memory (RAM). Resizing, compression, cropping, rotation, background removal, and format conversion occur locally on your device. We do not copy, inspect, or retain your local images.

Remote URL Import: If you use an import tool to fetch an image from an external public URL, that remote URL is retrieved via our secure server proxy (/api/import-image) solely to bypass browser cross-origin (CORS) restrictions. The proxy streams the image bytes directly to your browser session and does not persist or archive the image on our servers.

As soon as you close your browser tab, the image memory buffer on your device is cleared.

2. Strict Target File Size Compression

Our specialized KB compression tools (such as Compress to 100KB, Compress to 50KB, and Compress to 20KB) execute iterative, binary-search compression cycles entirely inside your browser. The output file size is calibrated locally through iterative compression cycles, helping your documents meet file size requirements for application portals, university submissions, job forms, and ID uploads without server exposure.

3. Advertising & Third-Party Cookies (Google AdSense)

To keep all TinyImageResizer.com image tools 100% free with unlimited usage, no watermarks, and no mandatory registration, we display advertisements supported by third-party advertising vendors, including Google.

• Third-Party Vendors & Cookies: Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites on the Internet.

• Google's Advertising Cookies: Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

• Advertising Measurement: Third-party ad networks or ad servers may use cookies, JavaScript, or Web Beacons in their respective advertisements and links that appear on TinyImageResizer.com. They automatically receive your IP address when this occurs to measure ad campaign effectiveness and personalize ad content.

How to Opt Out of Personalized Advertising:

You can opt out of personalized advertising and manage your ad preferences at any time using these consumer choice resources:

4. Analytics, Usage Telemetry & Browser Storage

We collect limited, non-personally identifiable technical telemetry to monitor tool health, prevent automated abuse, and understand which image tools are most popular:

  • Visitor & Session Identifiers: We store a randomized visitor ID (tinyimageresizer_vid) and session token (tinyimageresizer_sid) in local and session storage. These allow us to aggregate unique visits without recording personal identity.
  • Device & Browser Information: We log browser user agent, operating system family, and device category (mobile, tablet, desktop) to optimize canvas performance across hardware.
  • Approximate Geolocation: To understand regional traffic distribution, approximate location metrics (country, country code, and city) are derived from network IP lookup via /api/geo (using ipwho.is) or browser timezone. We do not track precise GPS coordinates.
  • Server-Side Usage Logs: Anonymized event records (such as "image_resized" or "format_converted") are aggregated in our local server logs (data/analytics-events.json) to monitor system uptime and error rates.
  • Google Analytics: When you grant analytics consent, Google Analytics tracks anonymous page views and user interaction flows.
  • Browser Preferences: Local storage retains functional preferences such as your cookie consent choices (tinyimageresizer_cookie_consent) and any locally drawn signatures or watermark stamps.

5. GDPR & CCPA Privacy Compliance

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), you have the right to know what data is collected. Because our image processing architecture operates client-side in your browser, we do not collect, process, sell, or share your personal images or biometric facial data.
